Misc Debris

One of my most recent adventures with my oven was the cooking of my Auntie's famous (well to me anyway) tart recipe. Now, I've never made butter tarts so i was a little apprehensive about the whole ordeal. But, I had recently purchased a pretty kick-ass pastry blender and rolling pin and felt that now would be the best time to try it out. The secret about these butter tarts is to keep them runny. Yes, I love my mom's butter tarts but she can never stomach the runniness that my father and I love. I decided to give it a try.

This is a picture of the lovely mess I was making on my table . Yes it is a glass table, and yes I washed it. Honestly though, it was the only working surface I had in my house besides my floor.

This is the super YUMMY filling that I used to make the super yummy tarts.

Okay, so I'm not the neatest person when I cook. My mom swears I try to use EVERY dish that I possibly can. We its true...I used to do that because my brother william would have to wash the dishes, but now I'm stuck with this habit....and IIIIIII have to wash the dishes. So i guess it backfired on me.

The result of these tasty treats??????? a handful of heaven. Honestly they were perfect, they were sweet, runny and the crust was perfectly flaky! I know if I ever want to make a crust for a pie I'm going to use this crust recipe....it was so perfect and yummy! I took them to work with me so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat them all.

Later, I also made some for my boyfriend. Well I was trying to do it fast and put them all in a big 12 cup pan....the ones on the inside cooked faster than the ones on the outside. It didn't work the way I wanted........but don't get me wrong......they still tasted good.

My next project.............perogies again.....its going to be easier to mash the potatoes now that I have a real potatoe masher.......and real bacon!!!! mmmmmmm can't wait.....I'll freeze you some Jen okay?

SURPRISE!!!!!! No don't get confused, this isn't a smurf............IT"S ME! Yes I bought some awsome blue tights that I just had to wear with my AWSOME blue sweater......If it wouldn't sound conceited, I would say I look pretty damn fine!
