Love is tough

So,

I have been debating about whether I should be posting on this thing about my relationship with Hodge....thing is its nice to hear what others think about what I should do....if you comment at all......please comment on this one.

Hodge and I have differing opinions about where our lives should be based. Of course I'm biased and I think that Canada would be a great place and he thinks that Korea is a great place. Its more complicated than that and involves family and the Korean males responsibilities towards family. I guess I really need to decide if I'm ready to live in this country for the rest of my life. I think its horrible that I come to the same conclusion every time but I don't think I will be able to be in this country for ever. This place isn't my home and would never be the place I want to raise my kids.

Hey.

I'm Amanda, I comment over at Jennifer's blog, but your settings force me to use this account to comment.

Good Man and I have it easier in that we don't want children. BUT I would prefer to live in Korea because it's a cake walk job compared to teaching in the US. YET I HATE how long men have to work here! So we figure we'll live in the US for a while, Korea for a while, and then some third country. It's easier for us because we won't have kids.

However, might I suggest you wait until he's done with military service to worry about this? Are you staying here for all of his service? If so you might grow to love Korea. I really do like it here.

Then again, if this is a true deal breaker and there's no agreement whatsoever right now...

It's tough! Hang in there!

Hi Annie,

I saw your blog while I was checking out Jennipal and The Flipside. The mention on "Hodge" caught my attention.Thats my nickname and email address.

My wife is in Seoul visiting family with my niece from Alabama,9/12 thru 10/29.I have been married for 20 years and my fondness for the Korean people and their culture is still growing. My niece is 19 and is thinking about a teaching career. She is in Ilsan(NW of Seoul)I will ask her to check out your blog.I got hooked on reading the blogs while visiting Korea in 2003 and 2005. Not being able to speak the language, boredom can set in after a few weeks. If you need Korean man advice I can get my wife to coach you up. She loves it. You know how big matchmaking is in Korea. Well good luck and write me back and let me know if you would like to contact my wife and niece.

atavistic........my settings? How do I change them? I'm confused.

Its not me that's worrying the most about what we are gunna do with our lives, Hodge is a planner. His service is finished in March. I've been here for almost two years and while I do like it.....I really can't see myself living this lifestyle after having the lifestyle I've had in Canada.

Dennis,

Sure....you can email me your wife's contact info...I love making contacts in Korea.
