School Field Trip!

Welcome to Korea, the land of field trips. At my last Hogwan (school) I went on field trips during the summer I swear every second week. I really enjoy field trips because it is a way for the students to practice their english in a non-classroom setting and also a way for us to get free food, a chance to see a new place, and get our exercise as we ran after our screaming children.

I recently went on my first field trip with my new school. We went to a park that is very close to our school. It was a half day event. We played some games, used the washrooms, ate lunch, used the washrooms, took pictures, used the washrooms and finally went back to the school to attempt to watch a movie which didn't keep the 100 screaming kids, who were hopped up on sugary goodies from their lunches, quiet. Needless to say....by the end of the day....I was wiped out....however it was fun and I can't wait for the next trip.

Pictured above is Shane, one of the new teachers at our school, and my children. left to right are Kelly, HeeMin, Shane Teacher, Jason, and Sara. Heemin is the Youngest at only 3 years old western age. The others are 4....and Shane... well....he fits right in. ;)

Why do they look so miserable? cause the game they are about to play was totally explained in English and they have no clue about what is going on. Lemme tell you....it was fun.

Two strapping young Teachers demonstrating how to play the game. Heemin flipped over the ball around 5 times I think. It was funny watching him roll right over with the ball.

Waiting....we do this a lot.

This is another teacher..... Sammy. Good guy.

Kelly

This little gaffer is Kevin. He is, we believe, autistic. However, we also believe that his parents are in denial. He does not have a private tutor and spends most of his class time either laying on the floor screaming or running into the wall. But honestly, he is a cutie. Here he is sporting Anne-Marie Teacher's Sunglasses, while Shane steals Kevin's and tries them on for size. I think they work.

The next few pics are of the balloon popping game. My kids didn't really get the idea but rather just ran around in circles giggling until someone popped their balloon. However, Heemin was so energized that he made it to the last round.

It might have had something to do with him not letting his balloon go for the first half of the game. I had to hit it out of his hands.
And Sara's hands too....

Lastly, some of the teachers were having hulla hoop competitions with the kids. Despite their size I must say that they are pretty good at it. I guess I can't swing my hips like I could when I was a little kid. Most of the teachers got their butts wooped. Shane devised a plan. The pics explain it all.

That's it for this update. its time for this lil' gal to header to bed. Long day tomorrow..........they always are. But wait......its science tomorrow.....woooohooooo!
